Hi all,

Something popped up on my desktop the other day and I have no idea what it is. Now it also shows up after reboots

Under the little "image" it have the sign ~

Is this associated with a program or something?
How can I get rid of it? can i just delete it? I've had this happen before. I just deleted it, but I am wondering if there is some kind of program that I need to set-up different.

Thanks for your input, I am running XP-pro with SP1 and all updates installed.http://www.angelfire.com/blog/hawk/desk1_copy.jpg

I noticed that you have an MS Acees file on your desktop move any MS Office in your documents and see if that file follows it

check for spywares using Spybot Search & Destroy (it's FREE)
http://www.safer-networking.org/ make sure you update after also make sure to get on in the advanced mode no easy mode
how? well lookin into the link of Spybot S&D and remove /easymode heh there are options inside you can do that too

Cheers:)

Thanks for the replies all!!

The funny thing is that those links point to either the addressbook or outlook express. i don't use any of these on this computer, because of the security vulnerabilities in it. i have a laptop set up for mail, and on the pc i only access hotmail and yahoo.

I have used that access-shortcut numerous times, and never had this little thing pop-up. So it must be something else that's picking it up.... I'll keep searching for now..

Well i just deleted the file and it doesn't look to be interfering with any programs.

So problem solved!!
