i don't seea signature, but if you have SATA on your motherboard you have a few extra options there!

PCI IDE/SATA/SCSI are just as good as the onboard ones you may have. For IDE I use promise and SCSI I use adaptec.

You could also go external USB or firewire

Depending on the size of your current hds you could probably be 2 new ones that have more space than your 3 old ones.

or go with some PATA--SATA adpters, they ar only a few bucks, I picked up some decent ones for $20 a piece, inluding shipping. so they'll open up some channels

You must need some big time storage is there a way you can just replace the Hdd's you have w/ bigger ones?

Yeah, that would be my choice.
Replace your current drives with larger ones.
Other options would be to get a PCI controller which will allow you to add four more drives.
I have a RAID motherboard and that’s how I use the extra ports.

Just get a controller card, it isnt messy and it is pretty cheap!!!

I have used the Promise TX133 PCI card (about $40-50) and it works great - you can even boot from it no problem :)

i current have 3x 120gb jb's i use them to store anime, if anyone has ever watched or downloaded anime series you should know it gets pretty big. i had thought about getting bigger drives and transfering them to the new drives but that would be too much of an hassle considering i will only be getting less than 80gb more space so i rather get a controller and add more drives to that.

i added a siig ata133 controller pci card. i've got an 80GB, 40x cdrw, 120GB drives all on their own channel, and the fourth channel is shared between the dvdrom and the 48x cdrw. it's sweeeet.... i can burn off of the maxtor ata133 80GB to both the 40x and the 48x at full speed simultaneously (different compilations or the same.) as soon as one disc is done, removed, labeled, and started again, the other drive is done and it is just back and forth between the burners. it requires my undivided attention to keep up with their freaking appetites for discs.
i really oughtta get a dvdrw, but with bluray and doublesided dvds on the horizon, i'm gonna wait it out and see what develops.

i'm gonna send you a pm about an extra controller card i have.

why not forget this and go for 1 200 gig like me, or if you really need it 2? that way, no need to use up a pci slot, and youll have room for a new optical drive too.

He's got three 120 gigs, full. He'd need two, at least, and that's about $400. The adaptor and another 120gig would be about 150, and give him an extra 120gigs, opposed to an extra ~40.

if you're archiving your anime on hard drives, consider getting one of those bays that let you swap out hard drives through the front of your pc.

i could do that but my friends usually come over with there laptops or harddrives to copy the anime over so i might as well get a adapter.

i already ordered 2x 200gb jbs from newegg ill see how it goes from there i might just move 2 drives to the 200's or just get a adapter.

that site is just reviews for the anime. you can find the fansubs on irc which is free and legal as long as it is not licensed by a company.
