(Sorry, title should read "Crazy PSU for multiple TEC's (12 VDC 80Amp !)" )

I wonder if you can run like 5 226W Pelts with this sucker and stack them on top of eachother.

This has been discussed alot of times before.
If you wan't to know more do a search on the subject.

In short: You need about 3 equal tecs to suck up all heat and heatlosses from the ONE tec if you wan't to create a decent deltaT between stages.

If you stack one on top of another and run them on full blast you will over run the secon stage from the get-go since:

CPU: creates 90W of heat

Tec stage one: Moves 90W of energy to TEC hot side, uses 190W to do so and created maybe 20C tempdifference.

Tec stage two: Gets 90W cpu heat + 190W tec heat = Tec two hasn't got a fair chance at all since about 180W is it's max pump capability with 0C temp diff!

So stacking consumes alot of energy to do with TECs, things also gets worse when you end up on low temps with TECs, they are designed to operate with a hotside a bit above roomtemp. With lower temps come even less efficiency.

You'll get better efficiency and temps with a parallell hookup.
To answer your question however I would say no. A 226W TEC can consume about 20 amps and possibly a bit more even when running on 12V. Running 4pcs 226W TECs on it would be a bit risky too.

Well, then maybe it would be a good PSU to power a 226 Watt pelt for the PSU, and another less powerful Pelt for the NB and GPU :)

Should work, no?

sounds like a good plan! i say go for it!

I'm waiting for all of my watercooling gear to come in, and I'll experiment with pelting the CPU first. Once I get some experience then maybe that will be the next project.

yeah or two pelts on the cpu side-by-side + a nb or gpu peltier. should be cool.
