View Full Version : [SOLVED] 256mb PC 133 64x32 RAM by Samsung

I can not get my computer to realize that it has 256mb ram in it it says that its is 128mb. I have two 256mb modules of Samsung PC 133 RAM and with two installed I get 256 and with one installed I get 128. I have a Soyo 6VBA 133 running a 500mhz PIII. Please help.

what chipset is that board, it may be that your board only supports 256mb dimms if they are registered dimms (have a buffer) or it may not support them at all

It has a Via Apollo chipset. It is supposed to support up to 512mb modules.

the only other explanation I can think of is that it isn't a 256mb dimm then, have you tryed it in another system

tried it in my fathers system. He has a gigabyte motherboard and its fine one his reads 256.
