Well i have had a little problem with my onboard sound. My speakers are Logitech Z-640s. My mobo as you can see is the NF7-s.

Here is the problem:
The sound card is not sending the signal to the correct speakers and the rear speakers are not recieving a signal durring normal music playback (i know i might have to do some tweaking for this to work but i think they should normally work)

Here is what happens in the driver controll panel:
I click test and a voice comes on, it says:
"Left": the sound comes from the front left speaker
"Center": THE SOUND COMES FROM THE BACK LEFT SPEAKER!!!
"Right": The sound comes from the front right speaker
"Left Surround": THE SOUND COMES FROM THE CENTER SPEAKER - THESE TWO SPEAKERS ARE SWITCHED.
This is not the wierdest part. The voice then sais
"Right Surround": THE SOUND COMES FROM THE SUB!!!
Then the sub rumbles.

The little "Speaker Output Levels" chart in the drivers agree with what the voice sais, so when the foice sais "Left Surround" i see the bar for the "Rear Left" increase even though the sound is clearly coming from the center speaker.

What i have done to try to fix it:
Running the setup wizzard a bunch of times (driver).
Fooling with driver settings in the drivers
Re-installing the drivers
Updating the drivers
Making sure windows has the correct speaker settings.

I would flash the bios but i don think that it could do anything to help.

Does anyone know what my problem is?
Thanks, Z.

I had similar problems, just double check everything is plugged in correctly, and here is how you should set up your control panel... (or at least how mine is and it works great)

If you turn on Dolby Surround encoding it can screw up some stuff

try unchecking all those boxes, and then plug the green wire into the green slot in the motherboard, the orange wire into the black slot, and the black wire into the orange slot. tell me if it works out.

SWEET, thanks SSgohan434. I dont know why that worked. Well i do and it makes perfect sense, thats why i tried it already. But it didnt work, i was probly still doing something wrong. Im just happy everythhing is back in shape now.

I have now just thought of a second question. Sometimes my sub wont turn on when i first start listening, just kinda tries whenever i turn the knob. Then it seems to go awa, does it just need to "warm up?"
Also, is it bad if the back (the amp part) gets quite hot after a few hours of high volume listening? This problem only started after i noticed it was particularly hot one time.

the subwoofer should be a in well vented area( about atleast 3 or 4 inches of space on each sides). There should be no warmup time or anything with any speakers.
