Hello guys.. I finally exchaged my old celeron400@573 for an celeron 600 cc0 stepping... I boot Ok at the first time into 900 default voltage, (100 fsb...) and I´m inside windows for some hours without problem. But... When I assembled it at 600, i noticed an erratic way of temperature changing between 25 and 53c!!! I took up the cpu and adapter and saw the misaligment with my alpha pal6035... I put some litle pieces of some foam to try to make it stay more paralel.. But the temperature behavior tells me it´s not Ok.... I wonder what solutions have anyone done in the same situation.... Just for think.... Maybe I should buy coppermine spacers/ feet..?

You just have to find something in the right thickness if you don't want to spend $2+5shipping for those feet. If you want it to work well. Check the contact with a light behind untill all seem fine.

When I first got my Cel 566 and put on my Alpha I used a copper shim. It kept things aligned properly but kept temps higher than I liked. I removed the shim and put a sliver of a business card along the edge of the zif. This leveled the HS up very nicely. I can now run at 994 MHz with load temps of 37c. Still not completly stable though. Guess I'm stuck at 953 until my Delta gets here...:)

Yeah thats exactly what I´ve done until now... But I´m thinking about buying a Delta fan with variable temperature control (So that it shuts up his mouth a bit when I´m idle: most part of time... and scream in an ocasional quake...)

Perhaps we are in the same boat he he.. I´m stuck in the 945... 988 possible but not 100% stable, as you... But in my case i´m shure it´s becouse the temperature, couse I need to rise the voltage to get into 988/1008 and the motherboard temperature bios control alarm (set to 56) starts to scream during reinitializations... Not shure if it´s the misaligment or if my alpha with sanyo denki 20cfm fans is not enough... Anyway I´ll order that fan and Don @ Peltec will send me as a gift those litle feet for the alpha.... He has some lying arround..!

Maybe you should try to find some small foampads you could bump on the bottom of your PAL6035. They came with my PEP66 and they prevent any rocking and/or moving around on the CPU-die. They get depressed as you mount the clip and it feels very solid. I had to check with a light to be sure, but the contact is 100% on and flat. The pads are positioned on all four corners like on the AMD CPU's.
