You may have heard me complaining about this in the past- but let me try again, since I didn't find a fix for it yet...
System Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+ @ 2200+
Watercooled
350W Antec
768MB PC2700 and PC3200 (lol)
128MB Abit GF4 Ti4400 (stock air, not oc'ed right now)
NEW MON= 17in Mitsubishi DiamondPoint (trinitron) SB70
OLD MON= 17in Samsung ???
40GB RAID0 Array - 2x Cheap Fluid Bearing 20GB Maxtor 7200RPM
16x LiteOn DVD
40x Samsung CDRW
And a DigiDock that isnt plugged into anything (hehe)
Here's the deal- I bought this card here on the forums a while ago for a good deal. I was used to older low resolution and graphics RTS for most of my fun, until I got the ti4400, and then I went to better games (with higher res).
Well I got the urge to play some good ole Age of Empires II: Conquerors... but my screen wobbled at the default 800x600 resolution. Hmm... must be my new mitsubishi diamondtron acting up. Switched monitors to my old one, and it worked!
So I stuck with my old monitor until I restarted. When I restarted, my old monitors drivers were installed- and then came back the wobbling.
Wobbling occurs on my old monitor at anything 800x600 or less- but only when the monitors settings are correctly installed. If windows uses 'default monitor' settings, everything works fine.
Theres a twist that might confuse some people: Even with 'default monitor' settings, my NEW monitor (the trinitron), will still wobble at low res.
So I checked into switching some refresh rates. None would stop the wobbling at low resolutions. Same problem on Linux with every possible monitor/refresh rate setting combo.
At first, I thought it was my pump. But even with that turned off or removed completely, it still gives me wobbling.
Questions:
1) Since I tried changing windows and linux settings to find a solution, and failed, would anyone be able to recommend me some good settings on RivaTuner's forced refresh rates tab to possibly end my problems?
2) If I cannot find a fix, how much do you (unbiased) think this card could sell on the classifieds (with all problems disclosed on the description)?
