Ok Jedi Cooling Masters...

I have an Intel P4 3.0C on an Intel D865GBF mobo in an Antec Overture Quiet PC case. I want this thing to cool down since it idles at 42-44C and does close to 60C under load. The case doesn't lend itself to particularly good airflow so I intend to mod the case to create a duct specifically for the HSF. I was planning to get a Zalman CNP7000-Cu this week to quiet it but started thinking about a Peltier cooling solution to keep it cool and relatively quiet.

This case comes with a 380w Antec power supply, works fine, I have only 1 hard drive and 1 combo CDRW/DVD drive (not a DVD burner). One ATI Radeon 64MB (soon to be a 9600XT) and one WinTV-PVR card in the box, no other hardware will be installed anytime soon. I'm not a hardware junkie, I just wanted to build a nice stable long term box - this one can hold me over for 2 years or so.

Any suggestions on a simple Peltier cooling solution would be greatly appreciated, phase change is simply out the question and water cooling probably won't do for low temps.

Thanks,

ps
In case you didn't notice I am not overclocking and I have no intentions of doing so - at least not with this Intel board.

have you though of water cooling. Case air flow is not as inportant as strate air cooling. You can even put the raidator out side of case.

I've seen the external cooling solutions, like the Exos from Koolance and Thermaltake's one, but that kinda defeats the purpose of this PC.

How big is the case, pizza box ,mid size tower, full size tower?

The case is the Antec Overture Quiet PC case (http://www.antec-inc.com/us/pro_details_enclosure.php?ProdID=15728)

Nice case, fairly spacey inside, nothing too cramped, and I have a lot of room on one side to put quite a bit of equipment/hardware for cooling purposes (like almost a square foot!!!). If I could find some kind of watercooling setup to put inside the box that would be fantastic but so far I've not had much success in that aspect.

Ok i see the problem !
are you using micro atx full sise mother board?
if is a micro you maybe fit a pump beside it and a thin heater core inside on top off it.

Just do a Zalman CNPS7000-CU. You are using an intel board so you will be at stock speeds and the zalman is even overkill. The Zalman is quiet and you can adjust the fan up or down to get your noise/temp ratio right. You have no need for water or a pelt IMO. That would really be overkill and a waste of money. If you can add a fan off to one side of that case you may have better airflow. I would cut the holes out on the fan that is on the back of the case. This will improve the amount of air you can pull through it. You could also do a different case unless your heart is set on that one. GL.
