Basic Trouble Shooting - E-mail Solution
In order to expedite the troubleshooting process, here are several steps that we would like you to take. The steps below should be followed in the order listed. Please do not skip steps, as this will slow the troubleshooting process greatly.
First, please check to see that you have the minimum system requirements for the program. You can check our website, http://www.dvdxcopy.com. Click on the program that you have, and then on the System Requirements button in the Other Information section.
Second, please verify that the version of the program you have is the latest version. A good deal of problems that we have had reported to us are fixed in newer versions, and the problem you are experiencing may be one of these. Please compare the version of the program that you have to the version listed at http://www.dvdxcopy.com/support/support.asp.
Third, please check your computer for possible conflicting software. It is best to check for these kinds of programs in Add/Remove Programs.
On Windows XP (either Home or Professional): Please go to Start, then to Control Panel, and then to Add/Remove Programs.
On Windows ME, 98 SE, or 2000: Please go to Start, then to Settings, then to Control Panel, and then to Add/Remove Programs.
The following are programs known to cause problems while using our software:
1. B's Clip: This package will load packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. It will need to be uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs.
2. Direct CD or Drag to Disk: These are applications from Easy CD Creator from Roxio. This package will load packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. To properly disable either of them you need to select it from the Add/Remove Programs list, and select Modify. You should be able to disable it from there. Different versions of this program have different steps from this point for how to disable them, but it should be self-explanatory based on the onscreen prompts.
3. GoBack: This is backup software that constantly runs in the background. This program will need to be disabled.
4. DLA: Also HP-DLA, Veritas DLA, and others. DLA stands for Disk Letter Assignment. This package will load packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. It will need to be uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs.
5. InCD and Ahead InCD: These are packet writing softwares that come bundled with Ahead Nero Burning Rom, as well as some other Nero packages. This package will load packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. It will need to be uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs.
6. Interactual Player and PC Friendly Player: These programs are DVD software viewers that often come on DVD movie discs, and will try to install themselves every time you watch a movie on your computer. Both programs interfere with all 321 Studios software and should be uninstalled when found.
7. Anti-Virus Software: Anti-virus software, while running, can cause errors. It needs to be disabled by right clicking on the icon in the lower right side of the task bar.
8. StopZilla: StopZilla can hinder required portions of our installer, causing the software to fail. Please completely disable StopZilla, then install our software. Once our software is installed, you may safely enable it again. If you have any difficulty using our software at a later time, you may need to disable StopZilla before going to use our software.
9. MyStorageGuard: This backup software can hinder certain required files from being copied during the installation. Please disable this program before installing our software, and have it disabled any time you go to use our software.
10. Napster 2.0: This software includes some basic burning software that can cause burning problems if it is running. You will need to close this program completely before trying to use our software. In some rare cases, you will need to completely uninstall this package to attain full reliability, so if disabling does not solve your issue, please try uninstalling this software and try again.
11. Easy CD Creator 4.x: Due to the age of this package, it is no longer updated by the authors. There are bugs present in this older system that will cause NUMEROUS problems on your machine, not just with our software. Please uninstall completely.
12. NTI FileCD: This program has packet writing software installed with it. This package will load packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. It will need to be uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs.
If you perform any of these changes, you may need to uninstall our software, then re-install to fix any damage left. If you find any of these packages, please shut down and reboot twice to ensure that the last pieces of the conflicting software are completely removed.
Fourth, if you have never checked your computer for Spyware, please go to http://www.lavasoft.nu/ and download the Ad-aware program. This is a free download. After downloading the program, please run it. This will remove all traces of spyware from your computer.
After taking these steps, please reboot again, and turn off all active programs. From there, please try another burn. If after this, if you are still having problems, please respond to this e-mail with the following answers so we can better determine the cause of the problem you are having:
Which version of Windows and what service pack are you running?
What version of our software are you using?
(This can be found in your Add/Remove Programs List)
Did you or do you still have any of the software listed above on your computer? If so, what programs?
What kind (make & model) of burner do you have? To determine this, please right click on My Computer, then on Properties. Click the hardware tab. Your drives will be listed there.
What kind of blank disks are you are using? We need to know the format, as well as the company that made them. Have you ever used other blanks?
Have you ever updated the firmware for your burner?
With these answers, we should be able to properly troubleshoot your problem.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

What are TDF Files, and where can I get them?
Hello,
Here is the information about TDF files as well as the links to download or request one for your movie. Also included are the instructions on how to use them. If you have any problems with these files please give us a call.
Thank you,
What is a TDF file?
TDF stands for “Title Definition Format”. TDF files contain setup instructions that tell DVD X Copy XPRESS how back up a DVD movie. TDF files for DVD X Copy Xpress are intended to be used only to fix incorrect titleset selections made by DVD X Copy Xpress and DVD authoring problems inherent in some DVD movies.
How do I know if I need a TDF file?
A TDF file will not fix a failed backup. TDF files do not correct driver problems or bugs that may exist in the application. However, if you successfully create a backup but the backup has the incorrect titleset, audio language, video format, or subtitle on it, it is likely that a TDF file will fix the problem.
Where can I get TDF files?
If you think you need a TDF file, you can search for it on our 321 Live! forum in two different sections, one for Xpress and one for Platinum.
Xpress TDF List: forum.321studios.com/?f=66&m=2521.
Platinum TDF List: http://forum.321studios.com/?f=65&m=2147
If you can not locate a Xpress TDF file you think you need, you can request one to be created at one of the following links:
Xpress TDF Request: http://forum.321studios.com/?f=66&m=3817
Platinum TDF Request: http://forum.321studios.com/?f=65&m=3814
If you make a request to have a TDF file created, please be sure to specify the exact movie title and the problem you are experiencing.
To use a TDF:
1) Copy and paste the ftp link into your browser then hit enter.
3) Double-click on TDF File to open it
4) Verify that it is the correct TDF needed
5) Click on "Open Into Xpress"
6) Once Xpress opens all you do from there is click on "Start"
**special note--Do not attempt to adjust any of DXCX's settings when using a TDF file. Doing so will cancel out the TDF. We have identified multiple errors that are caused by this.**
