View Full Version : Overclocking PII 400
I'm new to to all this overclocking, so i would be glad if anyone could help me out and give me a few pointers.
How can i overclock my PII 400. I've got an Intel 440BX chipset and my motherboard is apparently a Micro-Star ATX BX7 - Model W6147MS. Will this make any difference to what i can do?
I've got 128MB PC100 RAM, Riva TNT2 Vanta PCI Graphics Card.
Again any help would be appreciated.

Well try to remove everything from your system except you video card (ex modem, nice, sound, decorder)
and then boot into your bios and up you fsb and restart and if all is stable up your fsb a bit more and when it unstable up your voltage a bit. don't up your voltage to much

On the front page there is a tips and techniques section, there you will find beginers guides, further still you will find a good read "Beginners guide to overclocking" have fun.

What's the point of removing everything? If you want a stable system (notice usage of word "system") then you would surely want everything to be in there.
Two reasons I can think of for removing everything except the Vid card:
"Glory mission", i.e. Trying to get the system Maxed for proof/ bragging rights/BM purposes,
If you had reason to believe that one of your cards were stopping you from eeking out every last MHz from your OC.
As OpenFriday says, read the intro from the front page, and remember just because Person A has the same rig as you, don't expect you'll get the same as them.
