It cools down to -51c, just like it is supposed to do. Thats what the front LCD says, and the software says. Yet in the bios of my mobo, it just reads -16c? The Abit software that comes with the board is way off, and reads at 233c, which I just assume is a bug, having trouble reading subzero temps.

Its making good contact with the CPU, I checked it twice. Im just confused.. maybe the temp sensor is wrong?

The bios is probably the most correct. Get MBM5 for in windows temp checking.

It too is reading about -14c. Something isnt right.

I have the latest BIOS. There is good contact with the CPU, Ive checked it twice. The unit is cooling properly. Its just not reaching my CPU somehow. :(

Well, I think the bios is somewhat wrong too. It says -22C/-67F.

-20C is like -4F, don't know why bios says -67.

So yours sys -20c? Now I dont feel so bad. I knew Abit's read temps high, but I didnt think it would be 30c off. Im sitting at -23 now, so I guess Im good to go/

I know that with my old IC7-G Max 2 the temps were always higher than any other board. Check the Abit forums and you will find a lot on that topic. I do not know if the Max 3 has the same issues or not. I think my Max 2 was about 10-15C higher than I got (with the same setup) on my P4C800-E. That might be what you are experiencing. If you were to take 15C or so off your temp readings you would be in the range of a Mach 2.

The Mach II's temperature sensor only reads the evap temperature. The actual core is a lot warmer. That along with the Abit's overshooting would explain the high temps.

My VapoPE reads -17c on the front of the unit while MBM5 and BIOS read around -8c. Follows what Gautam stated.

Thanks. I thought Abits was off, they always have been for me. Just wanted some reassurance :)

Donīt believe in the mb sensors, they dont like negative temperatures.

Neither does Abits software.
