I have a feeling my wife may have got me a Boxed PIII 933 for my B-day. Up to this point I have been a slot 1 only man. I an not sure what to expect. Does the fan/HS come attached to the chip like the retail slot 1? If not, what kind of paste does it come with? Should I buy an FOP and chunk the boxed fan? I bought an Abit slocket III...she knows I am on to her.

I didn't get a p///, but my Celly 2 replacement came the end of Feb.
The Sink is supplied separately, and you have to attach it to the socket on the slocket (with a small screwdriver).
As for Thermal goop, it come with what can only be described as tacky white (tippex-esque) stuff plastered to the bottom. It's way too thick for a decent transfer of heat. if you're not planning to OCmy advice is to get some Bog std. Radioshack goop, and remove the stuff from the bottom of retail sink, and thinly spread the radioshack goop on the bottom of the 'sink.
If you plan to OC, however I would suggest getting a better heatsink than the Intel one (some would suggest this even if your not going to OC). I donated mine to my Sister's budget K6-2 500 machine, and got an FKP32 (forerunner of the FOP). Get a '32' model unless you want to wear ear plugs while working at the computer (the Delta 38 is a screaming banshee of a fan).
