As far as anyone knows, if their actually locked, they are locked. So the way most of us overclock most Pentiums is to change the speed of the Front Side Bus.

For example, I have a PIII700 that is supposed to run with a bus speed of 100. So the multiplier is locked at 7.

If I can get my bus speed up to 133 then the chip runs at 933 because 133 x 7 = 933.

OK??

covering pin b21 on the cartridge allows the chip to run on a 100mhz fsb, but this would mean the chips would be running at 500mhz, and unless you have been lucky and gotten a chip with 225mhz L2 cache then this is not going to be an easy overclock, if you can change you multiplyer though, even if you can only lower it then around 400-450 is quite possible

Phill is right that the b21 trick will allow you to run the cpu at 100mhz fsb, and some early PII's were not downward locked..meaning that you could drop the cpu multiplier, but not increase it. Also some PII 350's were really intel remarked 450mhz chips..so you could run at 4.5x100 easily...but those were few and far between.
Hope you got the good one

i hate saying this all the time but all pentium 2 350 and up where 100mhz fsb processors. the last 66mhz pentium was the 333. the only way to overclock these is to raise the fsb. there is no way to unlock the multiplyer.
