It actually posted and did the ram check before it locked up. This is only with cheap air cooling and thermal grease with default voltage. I really need a slocket to be able change the voltage.

Do you think this chip has potential?
Is it worth the money to invest in a slocket that allows me to up the voltage?

I like the Asus slockets, MSI is a close second. It looks like your chip will do ok. Most Celeron PPGA chips top out 500-600 with good cooling. I have used 366, 500, 533 and have been able to get all of them at or close to 600.

Well, If you can get stable at that speed, I would say you have a good overclock going....most people I know of use the Iwill sloket...if it loads win, and locks, I would think that maybe either a little more cooling might stabilize things...and if you know that heat is not the problem, then you might need maybe 5% or 10% jump in vcore should do the trick...but I would get into better cooling first...might not be the cheapest, but it would be the safest way to go..seeing as how you yourself mentioned that your cooling is "cheap".
Good luck with your efforts
