Hey all,
Well Im going to break down and get a new card today and was wondering if there is really any diffrence in the cards since all the chips are the same.I know they have some diffrent fans and such but is that all?Any suggestions would be great. This is a list from newegg since the prices are good and the selection is better.

ATi holds extremely high quality standards for their partners. Stock, each card is the same as with any other brand. Some, however, will offer better memory, etc occasionally

They all should be using the same Hyinx 2.5ns DDR memory.

Sapphire produces most of the cards for nearly every company, according to how they license it. So no card has necessarally higher quality from the factory, though one may have higher standards for quality-testing.

Does the ATI brand have heat sinks on the back of the card?I looked for pictures that show the back but cant find any.Its between the sapphire OEM or the retail ATI for $23 more.

I read somewhere a little while ago on this forum that all of the XT's were being made at the same factory and that the brands were simply putting their stickers on the heatsinks. Can anyone verify this? I would go with the ATI retail if it is only $23 more. That way you get the whole box and everything. If they were both the same price and both retail then I would go Sapphire.

Many ATI Graphics Cards are built by PC Partner (http://www.pcpartner.com.hk/profile/main.htm) in China. They build the OEM cards licensed out to several other companies, including many of ATI's own labled products. They also own/partner with Sapphire Tech.

FoxConn is also said to be getting into producing ATI cards, and they seem to be producing some of PowerColor's cards.

OK,Well after some reading I went with the Sapphire OEM for $435 that included shipping.Im hoping it will have some good samsung memory on it. I think I will put some AS3 on it and see how it clocks before maybe changing the heat sink all together.
