Ok, I'm getting sick of seeing Celeries here.
I see too many people post their Celery processors that some of us are not interested. It's like I come here everyday and see bunch of Celery related subject threads and very few about Penties and other interesting subjects.. It's getting boring! what is so good about Celeries anyway?.. yeah it's cheap.. but the performance is like ..... about the level of old junky AMD K6-2s at similar mhz comparison, meaning the performance is *****. What this site needs to do is to spare a separate room for Celeries n Onions. Let people post their celery stuff there. I'm this close to leave this site because it's same old thanggg about the Celery stuff here over n over...
Stick around for a bit, MilkPowder, the ol' forum is about to get mighty interesting.
Skip is soon to embark on a major overhaul of the forums, as we've just about out grown the UltraBoard, and the "chat room" might soon be a reality, as well.
Maybe when all is done, maybe there will be enough room for splitting the intel topic that way. Wait it out and see.....
Mr B
Hmm intel celeron, intel pentium= INTEL CHIPS=INTEL CPU'S.

Get a grip guy. Don't read what don't interest you. Let's see some benchmarks of the K6-2 or anything in the K6 family compared to Celeron bencmarks.

It's common knowledge that the Celerons are fantastic overclockers.
I think this thread belongs in the RANT forum BTW.

if it bothers you that much, why do you read them? Are you under the impression if there was a seperate thread for cellies more people would post about PIII and P4? I believe it would be the same amount of posts, just in different areas. Relax friend....just read the stuff that interests you and overlook the others.

A Celeron is just as much an Intel CPU as a P3 or a P4 is... No need to split the topic, imho. Just read what interests you, and skip the rest.

There is nothing wrong with Celerons. I wish I had a Pentium III 850 E so that I could re-introduce the 1.13 gigahertz before Intel does...but, I cannot afford it and am afraid I would need to buy that SA6-R I have been drueling over. Sooooooooo, I stick with a 667 to 1000 for now. I DO want more people to post their Intel results on the 800 and 850's in the E format.

dangg.. I didn't expect I get this many responses in such short time. I just started almost-like flame war because I thought this would be a refreshing in disrupting the tranquality of this forum site. (let me know if what I said even makes any sense). Thanks for the responses anyway. I needed somebody bashing me. Feel little bit of excitement cauze I used to be a real bad ass troll and got banned from some sites for months and in some case, permanent ban. Dont worry, I won't be doing that again anyway.. I used to love 3Dfx forum site, was so damn cool forum site.. Too bad that their site has attacked and torn down by nVidia troops. I had really great fun there.. I just can't seem to find any other site that could replace that.. Sorry for the trouble.. I expect to get more flames from ya, so feel free to spew out! hehehe..

BTW, oh I forgot to mention,.. I was refering AMD k6-2s comparable to Celery 1, not Celemine. You see, if you gonna get real cheap ass CPU chip, why go with Celery anyway.. Go with Duron cause they wipe Celery up and down left n right every direction you can think of in performance. I'm not an AMD fan but Im just speaking what I think is wise in this matter.

Thanks MilkPowder. I just cut and pasted from the website. http://www.cpuscorecard.com/index.htm
I agree that if buying a new cpu and mobo, AMD is the way to go currently.
The fact is though, most of us are upgrading current systems. You can take a celly and throw it in and old BX mobo and oc the hell out of it for way cheap.
I think a better argument would have been based on the statement below from the website where I got my info.
QUOTE "The CPU Scorecard benchmarks are based upon Intel's iCOMP, a combined rating of integer, floating-point, internet (Java) and multimedia performance."
I would bet that a comparison of the same chips using an AMD devised benchmarking suite would reverse the results that I posted.
Yes we have no bannanas!

yes Slake.. you're right about the Celley's upgrading part. you got good point there too...
i think there should be a separate forum.
Maybe we celery owners can have more concentrated info
