View Full Version : I've got to 448Mhz - i want more!
I've managed to get my PII 400 up to 448, running at 112 FSB. My motherboard can go to 133, but i cant get it to load windows. I've done nothing with voltage settings though - don't know much about this!!
I have bought a system blower fan for inside my case, but still cant get chip to 532Mhz.
Help!!

is the mem 133Mhz??? if so than the Vcore must go up !!
I would say the chances of a PII getting to 133mhz FSB are slim and none. 112-115 is probably the highest you'll see....even with the addition of liquid cooling.
First check your ram.It has to be 133 Mhz. Then if you have some of the rare PII400's like mine you can do even 560. But like cw823 said the chance is really slim .

Maybe you should do following trick. Cover the PII B14 pin (with a piece of ad tape, then plug it in the mobo. Maybe it will work. I see this trick at www.tomshardware.com. My Cely300A now run at 450(4.5x100) cause I cover my Cely B21 pin. It run very stable, even with Intel stock HSF.
I don't sure that it will work, do as your own risk. But I will pray that you can do it. Email me if u have a PII533, ^_^.
PS: My English isn't very good, hope you can understand...
first of all, covering the pins on pII's is overrated. if you only have pc100 ram this may be the problem, pick up some pc133. if you already have pc133 try adjusting the i/o and core voltages. check your temps, you should be able to get 500+mhz

You might have to give it some more core voltage, but make sure you have good cooling....and if all else fails try disabling the cache, or slowing it down...this will tell you if your problem is cache related...I have PIII 450 (katmai) that won't do more than 598 because of the crappy cache...a freind got one the same day, from the same vendor, right after me, and we both have the same s-spec, and his will do 639mhz, and we had identical setups....so give a little juice, and see what happens
I have a PII350 now only at 392..I guess 112FSB. I have PC133 ram now and have o'c'ed it to 133 FSB up to 466mhz. Everything runs fine but when I play 3D games with my Voodoo2 PCI, the screen gets ugly and then it hangs. U guys think its the card now right? Its an add-on PCI onto an ATI allinwonder. I'm using Wicked3D Gl drivers for it too FYI.
