Hi folks. My first post here. I am attempting to overclock a celeron 700 (SL4P8) to 100 mhz fsb on an Abit Be-6 board.

However, I have not been successful thus far. I was wondering if anyone was aware of any incompatibilities or problems due to this board (rather old), agp video card that I am using which is a voodoo 5500, or some other factor.

It is currently running at 83 mhz fsb which is the next lowest setting for the fsb for this motherboard (Softmenu II), but I would prefer to not run it at this fsb since I had read that this is hard on the pci cards and the hard disks especially.

Any information or help would be appreciated. I have tried flashing the bios to increase the voltage with the /cc /sn switches but it does not want to go beyond 1.9 volts. I have quite a lot of cooling and 384 megs of PC-133 SD ram.

Do you need 1.85v to get it stable @ 874??? Mine did 877 @ 1.65v (i have a cC0 chip and it defaults @ 1.70v) The max that chip will do is probably 910 areas, if you need 1.85v for 874. My chip will post @ 1082 @ 2.3v, with 1 80mm fan and 2 60mm on the heatsink. None of your compononets is the problem. The chip doesn't overclock very well, at least not yours. If you want, i will sell you my chip, it is stable @ 968 (92fsb) 2.1v with MS 6905 MASTER slotkey. does 903 @ 1.75v. I need money for my Tbird combo.

That's a good point. I simply increased the voltage to a high setting based on some of the data that I observed in the cpu database here. I also wanted to burn in the cpu for a while and then gradually decrease the voltage. I suppose I could have gone the other way but I am not that experienced with overclocking, especially with the newer chips.

Thanks for the offer, but I simply wanted a cheap upgrade for my old existing motherboard. This was an affordable solution for me before I upgrade to an AMD motherboard, processor and PC2100 ram (depending on the reviews of the motherboards that support it).
