The problem of the large volume hard drive

Dear Sir/Madam:

I bought a Seagate hard drive(ST3120026A) before, and I installed it with my Asus CUBX board, but I face a problem about this drive.

Asus CUBX has a chip of CMD 648 IDE controller on the board, and when I installed it to the CMD 648 controller, the drive cannot be detected! But when I installed it to the IDE port of south bridge. The drive can be detected. And I have changed the IDE cable already, but the problem is still exist.

Then I installed it on to the CMD 649 and Highpoint 366 IDE PCI card, but the drive cannot be detected also. What should I do to solve this problem?

Check the jumper selector on the back of the drive to make sure its on Master..

After flashing the BIOS of HPT366 IDE card, the drive can be detected again, it seems the BIOS problem of CMD 649 card.;)
