comparing nvidia and ati

What card of ati's is an nvidia ti4200 8x comparable to?
Also, what would a radeon 9700pro be comparable to in nvidia wise?

I was thinking about going for the ti4200 but I want to know what it beats/is close to.. :)

geforce 5900 (or 5900U, depending on benchmark?)

i'd go for the ti 4200 price/performance wise, and overclock it, too ^^

R8500 for the ti4200, but the 9700pro is quite a bit faster than the 5900 in some cases. The 5900nu kinda fits in the area betweem the 9600's and 9700's.

What could I get the ti4200 to match performance wise after oc'ing the card?

You could get roughly the speed of a 9600np, maybe a pro, but if you turn on any eye-candy the 9600 will pull ahead fast. You also wont have the IQ and the dx9 features of the 9600.
