im in the process of oc'n my celery 700 and i have it cool finally with a globalwin FOP38 its really nice...but im locking up when i try and transfer things from my cd-rom or dl'n stuff off the net. Im thinking its because i have my cd-rom, accidentally, as my primary master. My harddrive is on the secondary master. So to switch those around do i have to physically switch the ide cables on the motheboard? Or can i do that in the bios?? Help !! this might actually be the answer to my locking up problems! Does anyone know if switching these two woudl solve that problem? is so how do i do it!? any advice would be much appreciated. thx

Yes, you have to physically switch the two vables around, but I don't think that is the issue.

In theory it shouldn't matter which one you use for what. However, most people like having the hard drive on the primary IDE. (IDE1)

Try it, and if it doesn't help, try reinstalling your OS.

heh, yah reformatting was what i was trying to avoid here. I guess it is inevitable :) Thanks for the advice! I just wish i could find a way to fix it without reformatting, so much hassle. But o well. thx again

Hold on with that reformat just a second pal...

Have you installed all the needed drivers? And are the problems also occuring when your computer isn't overclocked?

yah, i dont even have it oc'd yet. I have all the drivers installed, there are no conflicts in the device manager, everythign works fine until i try the transfer from cd or internet or network. I dont know what to do.. :(

What jumper settings are you using on the back of your hard drive and CD-ROM?

dont even really know about the jumpers on my hd and cd-rom. heh, i guess they are set to something that worked with my old board which wan an abit zm6 with a celery 433. Would i have to change the settings on my hd and cd-rom with a new really recent board? Cuz i have a cuv4x-e brand spanking new, or so i hear. That could be my problem, how woudl i go about doing that? and alan do you have icq or something we are just posting back and forth to each other :) hehe! i'll try and icq you hold up.
