View Full Version : Slow Bittorrent Over Wireless

I have a D-Link DI-514 802.11b Rev. B Wireless Router along with a D-Link DWL-520 Rev D. Wireless PCI Adaptor. I get good internet browsing speeds and whenever I download from a good site, I can hit 200kb\s. With Bittorrent though, the downloads are slow. I don't remember going above 20 kb\s with it. However, when I take out the router and directly plug in my modem to the compy, I get my usual Bittorrent speeds of between 50-150 kb\s. On the D-Link site, it talks about opening up ports 6881-6889 and I did that but Bittorrent is still slow. My connection strength is usually good and higher.

Can anyone tell me if there's anything I can do to make it go faster? One of the reasons I got Wireless was so I could do fast DLs on two different comps... Any help would be appreciated!

bittorrent isnt a dedicated download source, at anytime its always random people that you are downloading off of. so some of those people maybe on dial up too, or maybe he set their upload speed.
