w/ 9800 Pro around 15-18k depending on mem latency, tweaks and other components, with 9600 Pro round' 11-15k, same restrictions...

in 03 the scores would be 5200-6000 and 4000-5500 respectively...

if it matter my 2500+ @ 2.58ghz and my 9800 Pro @ 455 core / 790 mem get 21k and 6800 in 01 and 03 respectively

wow nice

how u got ur 2500+ @ 2.58 ghz, is it unlocked?

yea... I can boot to windows at 2.6ghz but its unstable, I locked up in the 2nd Sound Test in 03  sooo close...

but yea, unlocked... I figure I might break 2.6 once I reassemble my WC loop; first time around I had my RBX running backwards, I'm figureing that my temps will go down a few degrees now (44 load @ 2 volts, 2.58ghz... course only 31c load @ 3200+ speeds 1.6 volts)

They should go down drastically when you mound the block correctly. I only have a maze 3 and I get under 35c load on 2volts. But that is a nice score.I can break 20k with my setup now.

9800 pro with xp3200 speeds will get you about 16k
9600 pro with 2.8c will get you about 12k
in 2003, the 9600 pro is gonna get just over 3000 while the 9800 pro will be double that at 6000

i have to agree woth OC550 for the 9600pro but the 9800pro will do 17 to 18K

if you overclock the 9800 pro then yes. Steven4563 is getting 18k cause hes got a faster cpu and higher fsb. the extra fsb and cpu MHz is worth like 1500 marks

Steven4563

i wouldnt say mines too much faster because hes got 512K L2 Cache ive only 256K

you have over 200MHz faster cpu clocks and more importantly, higher fsb. you wont beat him by much in car chase which is cpu intensive but youd totally own him in lobby though

Steven4563

my extra fsb and cpu clock speed is not worth 1500marks lol its worth about 1000 max thats just me tho

yo can you do me a little favor? run your fsb at 220, your cpu at 2.42GHz, your ram at 2.5-2-2-11 timings and your flashed 9700 at bone pro stock speeds of 325/310 in 3dmark 2001. I want to see how close my overclocked ti4200 compares to a stock 9700 pro.

hmm i cant run my ram at 2.5 - 2 - 2 - 11 timings ill be happy to do it at 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 11 timings tho

ok then run 2.5-3-3-11 do you think ill outperform you then?

Steven4563

i think i will get around 16.5K ill do it in 10 mins and ill post my score

2.5 - 3 - 3 - 11 timings with stock 9700pro

i got 16474

will run again coz it says cant publish it

EDIT: ran it agian just says the same.
This project can not be published due to detected CPU speed variation.

that is odd, somethings wrong with your cpu, I get that when my cpus not stable enough, it reports the wrong speed, but dont bother running it again, I get it. my ti4200 at 330/690 is only 500 marks slower than a stock 9700 pro, I thought so too. Not bad :) oh and my tweakmonster ramsinks came, I could close that gap :)

Steven4563

im at stock  LOL your off ya rocker :D jkin

the max i have got with my 9700pro at stock speeds on nature is 113fps

my cpu is stable at speeds in sig ive ran seti for 4 days straight so its got to be even when i lower my fsb by 2

Overclocker550

I might break 100fps in nature, not sure but the ti4200 is faster on other game tests, just not in nature cause I have less bandwith than you but a better core. can you download aim so we can chat in real time? lots of interesting things to discuss ;)

hmmm ive got msn but if u havent got that i guess i can download aim :)

just downloaded aim username is xratedsniper45

tweakmonsters made little difference. I run 700MHz on the ram now. Guess I have 500 marks behind a stock 9700 pro unless I v mod

hey thx coltice, how many pts do you think it will cost me if i get cas 2.5 instead of cas 2, not to dramaticly much right?

with the timings at 2.5-3-3-11 I score around 500 pts less

youd lose at least 500 marks with slower ram. If you dont care for high 3dmarks and losing fps in games and cant afford good ram, fine. I consider good ram highly important

exactly, why buy a corvette if your just going to buy cheap gas

I just cant stand being bottlenecked by something as simple as ram :( unless you have an old kt266 or even any mobo that most likley wont do 200fsb, youll want low latency ram with high overclockability. kt266 mobos rarely go past 150fsb so you could easily stick pc2700 in there and because you underclock, you should be able to run 2-2-2-6 timings. Even ram with high latencies often are capable of tight timings when underclocked
