I just got a Celeron 667 and an FIC FA11 motherboard. The MB came with software to overclock, but will only let me take it up to 83Mhz, but at that FSB, the system locks up. If I run it at 75Mhz, I can get it to run at 750Mhz and stable. I would like to take it higher, any suggestions?
it is possible you may get to 1ghz on a 100mhz fsb (if the board supports it which I think it does) but unlikely, an 83mhz fsb can cause problems with vid cards, sound cards modems and harddrives, it either works or it doesn't as it is usually the hardrive which can't take the 41mhz pci bus speed, is it in a slocket or is it an s370 board? have a look in the manual for a jumper that allows a 100mhz fsb on none 100mhz chips as many have them

In the BIOS and the manual, it says the board can do up to 150mhz FSB. So should I try setting the jumpers on the board to 100Mhz?
go for it the worst that can happen is it won't post or boot into windows, try increasing the voltage in 0.05v incriments until it's stabel but don't go over 2v, what cooler do you have?

Where would I bump up the voltage at? The only thing I see in the manual is a jumper to set. What it says...
Intel ---66 Mhz Jumper J1 2-3 J2 2-3 J3 2-3
100Mhz Jumper J1 2-3 J2 2-3 J3 Open
133Mhz Jumper J1 2-3 J2 Open J3 Open
There is a jumper to allow the voltage to adjusted, I have set to enable, but I still don't see any thing in the manual to show how to set the voltage higher. Also I am using a Global WIN cooler. At 75/37mhz, the system works fine. I tried adjusting the bios to higher speeds to match the /37 portion, the only settings were at 112 and 150, but the system won't POST any speeds higher than 75. The rest of my system is as follows:
FIC FA11 Motherboard, Cel667, 192MB of PC100 RAM, SIII S540 Xtreme 32MB Video, 2 10GB WD 5400rpm HD, AWE32 sound card, NE2000 ISA NIC.
