its possible that you have set your settings too high for that card to handle. another thing to check would be what speed your agp bus is running in your cmos, if the card is only 1x/2x/4x and you are running it at 8x it may not like it.

maybe you have the primary display on your bois set as the wrong one (pci/agp) and windowz thinkz that you have dual displayz so it may not be showin up on 1 screen, so check the primary display device and change it to what your card it.
also try to turn off fastwrites

I am wondering if I am mis-understanding the question based on the other responses, but I think I had better throw my hat in the ring anyway. It is strange that it would do that, and I agree with them on the bios stuff, but have you tried to get in through safe mode? It would be interesting to see if you could get in that way, if so maybe some driver is being loaded for your video that is incorrect? Just a thought!

Try booting in safe mode before you try my suggestions, but I think these would be good options if that fails...Ok, since you didn't give as many details as I would have hoped for I'll just go out on a limb and say that windows is probably set up to use a different monitor or video card. If any one else has used your computer it is a distinct possibility, and judging from the symptoms it's what I would guess, if you can have more than one monitor from your video card you may try hooking one up to the alternate output as well as leaving the main one in. Most of the time when the display settings are too high the monitor will just look sort of like your tv does if any of you remember back in the day when there were antennas...when you'd change between channels and one wouldnt quite come in and would just scroll by the screen over and over, however usually it combines that with a lot of lines across the screen where it's refreshing at a really slow rate...If you're the only one that has access to your computer and you dont play around in device manager too often then ignore this one, but if somebody else that *knows what they are doing* has access I'd check it out...if you've ever had a video card in a different slot it's *possible* although not likely that windowz has somehow decided that that card has returned and is trying to send the signal to that slot, again it's a remote possibility, one that only exists in windowz... ( it's happened to me before, I don't know how but it did... )

Can WinXP Pro even run off of 128 K of RAM??? Not to sound like an ass or anything, but I heard that it won't run off 128... and that min requirement is 256.

Minimum for xp is 64, it's running on my grandparent's celeron 633 with 64 megs of ram. It's slow, but it runs.

Well i am going to be his ambasodor, he lives a couple blocks away from me and i am on the phone w/ him.

He has the vid problem fixed but he still has a few problems. So far i think he is getting there but there are still a few road blocks which i think he can overcome.

PS im not sure what made it work.
