Well I'm going to try to get Mushkin 3500 Lvl 2 in three weeks. If I am unsuccessful in being able to purchase it due to demand and short supply, I was going to go with OCZ PC 4000 Gold or Corsair XMS 4000 Pro. This will be my first experience at overclocking so as a newbie I will need all the wisdom to get a successful overclock. I have an asus p4c800 e deluxe with a 2.8c processor. I read numerous websites and discovered that this processor usually tops out in the 240-245 mhz. I contacted OCZ tech support and they recommeded the PC4000 Gold. I have equipped a thermalright sp-94 with a tornado 92mm fan. I have equipped a Swiftech MCX159-P Chip Cooler for my North Bridge. I am not really concerned with price, just overall performance. What do you recommend and why? Thanks for all your help.

I would suggest OCZ PC-3700 Gold Rev. 2 . It's been topping out about where your CPU will top out (235-245MHz). Ideally, it would be a good "in-between" the Mushkin and the PC-4000. Offering "in-between" clock speeds (between 217+ and 250+) with "in-between" timings (2.5-3-3 - instead of 2-2-2 or 3-4-4).

Because it is has tight timings at 200fsb and will run 260fsb with still fairly good timings.
It seems like it will be the best all around ram for someone that is probably not going to go past 250FSB, but faster than 200fsb.

yep, the ocz is good stuff but would be wasted on a 2.8. only need something with best timings up to 240-250.

Is it true ozc rumors of poor rma/customer service to mislabeled hardware to just plain old bad quality, their bullying of hardware review sites, and using cronies to bully forum posters? Cause if thats the case, I dont want to be mislead by anandtech's reviews that rated ocz memory high. If that's the case, I might just go with corsair xms pro 4000 pro and avoid any aggervation or misleading products.

What would you suggest? We are talking about PC3700 thst only goes that high.
Know anything else that can run 2(2.5)-3-3-7 at 245fsb?

It would do better with OCZ's PC-3700 Gold Rev. 2.

I've already been there.
The best that I could do was 2.5-4-4-7 at 2.85v
By the way, what is your max FSB now?
