P3-700 FC-PGA cA2/SLOTKET !!!
Asus P3V4X
128MB PC100 Kingston SDRAM
Leadtek WinFast GeForce 2 GTS
SB Live! Value
I't been pointed out to me on the forum that because of my PC100 ram, it'll be hard for me to get any real stability to OC my FSB over 100Mhz. Here's the dilemma:
I'm probably gonna sell this DIMM in favor of a PC133 Module, now, will a Crucial 256MB PC133 CL-2 DIMM for $99.98 be a good deal? I play a **** load of games, TRIBES 2 ROCKS!, so I could use the extra ram and with the 133Mhz I could obviously OC the heck out of CPU, or should I go with the Mushkin 128MB PC133 Rev.2 for $72, or Rev.3 for $112. What I'm asking is with the Crucial, will I get a good overclock? I had hoped to get up to 931Mhz, but I will settle for about 868Mhz.

Many people seem to be able to overclock very well with their Crucial 256mb PC133 CL2 RAM. I think you can easily hit over 150mhz bus with it.
Mushkin is very good.. and that's what I use. Running 153mhz FSB @ cas222 is great. I think both them are good performer.

Have you actually tried to overclock it above 100MHz FSB? I have 128MB of Mushkin PC133 CAS2 and 2 sticks of 64MB PC100 CAS3, one Kingston and one generic, and they are all happily running together at 112 MHz CL2. There have been no errors at all and my Win 98 uptime was cut short at 11 days only because I moved the box and I accidentally unplugged the power cord.

Yeah, actually, I can go up to 105Mhz, but because everything between 105Mhz and 124Mhz puts the PCI bus too high, it won't boot past 105Mhz. So my choices for OC'ing are 103Mhz, 105Mhz, 124Mhz, 133Mhz, and 140Mhz. My ultimate goal is the 133Mhz, so I can get it to 931Mhz, but this will take some cooling and I'm gonna get 2 case fans as well as an AlphaPEP66T hsf.
I would say it will take a lot of cooling to get a 700 cA2 to 933mhz, I am surprised you have troubles over 105mhz fsb as I have a 3 year old system that will run fine with a 37mhz pci, it will run at a 41mhz pci bus as long as the harddrive is set to pio mode 2 but not with udma enabled, have you tryed a 112mhz fsb and in what way was it unstable?

Kingston is a good brand, is it a cas2 stick? I have a Siemens PC100 222 stick and it's running 131Mhz at 333 right now together with a generic PC133 stick...

When I have the PCI over 35Mhz, the system doesn't boot at all. I have to give it a few tries, but then I'm thrown in to BIOS with an error about my FSB/PCI Frequencies being wrong. When I try 124Mhz, It boots, but it won't boot into windows. I either get odd errors, like supposed damaged .vxd files or Windows Registry Checker starts up and locks-up. I just got a PC133 kingston 128 MB DIMM, and I'm still getting these errors, so I assume It's heat becuase I am using the hsf that came with the CPU, an Intel hsf. And I've tried up to 1.75v, but I don't want to push it until I get an AlphaPEP66T hsf and some case fans.

Welcome Yoda_blues,
I would like to point out that a lot of younger people come here as well as adults...and we all should refrain from cussing as much as possible...We all have been guilty of cussing, but I have realised that younger people are showing up all the time...and I would hate for some kids mom to ban him/her from visiting this site, because of a few words.
Some "nany" type software would filter out a site with cusswords. so the msg wouldn't even be seen.
I say Welcome to the forum..enjoy, learn, and remember there are children present.
Thank you for understanding :-)

Excuse me DocClock aka MadClocker can you explain me what are you speaking for?
I hope you aren't speaking about the answer that Yoda_Blues has received for his probs.
Thanks.
