A friend just ICQ'ed me with a problem his having... and it has me stumped...


he can get e-mail and msn and icq fine but eveytime he opend IE he gets

"click here to find out more" he dose that it says "click here to check our data collection policy on the web" and it works for a second then gives him the send data to microsoft window..


his done virus scanes and resetting the modem and computer numerious time.... no new programs installed as of late...

anyone encounter this and have a fix for it besides a format

Run Adaware. You can get it at hotfiles.com, download.com, or elsewhere.

Adaware will scan for malware, spyware, and junk like what is hijacking your friend's homepage.

If that doesn't do it, try another similar app.

If IE is so messed up, another thing to try is download and install another browser (ie-(no pun intended :)) mozilla). I think they have an FTP site. This way you can browse and access the internet to get the stuff you need to to fix IE.

Solve all your browser problems by switching to Mozilla Firebird. You will love it and never go back...I promise!
