Open Friday...that's where I'm running this machine. The best I've gotten was 960 stable but I didn't care to have the FSB freq up that high.

Cool Terry, my mobo's highest FSB is 150 so i really cant see how high she could really go. Though im sure the cl3 generic is pretty much maxed out at 150.

165 fsb very stable playing video games, seti, and windows, 166 stable on seti and windows, screen locks up every once in a while playing video games last night installed a large hsf on my GF2mx hope that takes care of stability problems @166. have booted into windows @169 once but no seti would not even think about playing video games at that speed. windows ran fine.

picky for OC'ing or picky for just running. I've yet to find a stick of ANYTHING and Intel chip won't run on. For that matter I've yet to find a stick of any memory that won't oc even a little......so I'd say it's not picky. I'd say Picky comes in when you wanna extreme oc a system. (I mean 30 or so mhz on the fsb or more)

If your running PC133 @165 I think that answers its own question obviously not that fussy.
I would think you would reach RAM limitations first.

I've seen PC66 generic hit over 112mhz. You should have named the post. "What should I expect from my ram?" The intel part... I doubt any Intel will have a problem with ram, but it could happen.

Outhouse...I would expect you to be able to get higher and more stable with just the corsair. Two thoughts of reasoning behind this.

1. Ram is more stable in a single slot as apposed to two. For example a
slot of 256mb is more stable than 2 128mb.

2. This one is just about quality. I would be shocked if your generic ram
could perform on the same level as the corsair.

Pulling it out and testing is your best way to find out for sure though. I am often a lazy person myself but come on, opening up your comp and playing around is the fun of overclocking.

As a side note. Under most circumstances the difference between 128mb of ram and 256mb of ram is not a lot. So my guess is the extra 128mb is not doing a lot for you.

generic cas 3 ram here. Celey 667@832. Any ram seems to work with the Intel Chips. But good ram is more likely to get you higher, and the good stuff is not too much higher than the cheap stuff now. Get something from Mushkin, Crucial, Viking, or Corsair. That will be the best for oc'ing
