I have my celeron 466 running at 584 right now with an alpha heatsink/fan on an abit bx6 rev 2 board. Its super stable at 2.05 v, 83 mhz fsb right now and I'm wondering if it is possible to go to 100 fsb and keep it stable. im using pc 133 ecc ram. I dont want the computer to blow up but it would be cool to see it go over 600 mhz.

thanks

Best to look in the cpu database.
See what others are getting.

Most of the older celerons max out at around 600, without some more extreme cooling. If you had more FSB options between 83-100 you could might be able to take it to about 600.

if you got the hsf to do it, you should be able to. You most definately could with water cooling. I had my celey 400 run rock hard stable at 600 without a peltier. Actually it was the quitest computer I have ever run. I used a car radiator so i did not need a fan for the radiator!

I posted at 700 mhz at 2.2 v. windows didnt load. From what it looks i would need to increase voltage to 2.3 but i don't think its safe to do. temps are low but thats alot of voltage. also no one on the board was running at 700. either they were running at a higher speed or high 600's.

i think i'll probably wait until i get a backup computer before trying again.

the limit of the mendicino core was about 600mhz, the fact that you can post at 700mhz is quite amazing, but I much doubt without a peltier you would be able to stabalise it, and as I have said in other posts peltiers are only economical when used on the fastests processors, such as a p3 or tbird
