What should I go with?

I have 512mb 2/256 of Corsair PC3500 XMS memory and want to go to 1GB. Should I just go with 2 more of the same or get 2/512 of the XMS. Thanks

Overclocking with 4 DIMMs is not ideal. But for running games, it should be fine. Running 4x256MB should not cause any problems if all are fine.

Your overall speed will be limited by not only the slowest of the sticks but also by how well your motherboard takes to sending signals to 4 DIMMs as oppossed to 2.

If you were in the market for 512MB sticks, the only site I know of is Spartan Technologies (www.spartantech.com). Otherwise, NewEgg is still selling 256MB sticks of Corsair XMS PC-3500 for $77/$78 a piece.
