View Full Version : Need help. New to Overclocking. 2nd request
I have tried to overclock my celeron 667 past the 83 fsb on my asus p3b-f. It just won't boot up at 100 fsb even after adjusting voltage to 2.0v. It did boot up twice when I first tried it at 100 fsb, but locked going into windows. It has the SL4NZ code found in the cpu database that seems to hit 1000mhz with no problem.
Do I need a new motherboard? If I do I think I am going with AMD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Number one, there is no guarantee that a 667 will hit 100 MHz bus speed. My buddy's C-667 will not. Number two, I suspect you need much better cooling in the form of a better CPU cooler, using a good quality thermal paste and probably need extra case fans too. Another thing to consider is the RAM memory speed, you'll need at least PC-100.

I am using a golden orb and pc 133 memory. My temp is 34C. Could it be the generic slot 1 adapter?
