Just curious...
I received my brand spanking new AI7, Kingston 512mb pc3200 RAM and p4 2.6c processor the other day (and there was much rejoicing). After setting everything up, I wasted no time in getting some renders down in Lightwave and After Effects. I took note of the times, which were much faster than my previous set up would allow. The next logical step would be using the uguru to pump my clock up to 3.2ghz, which was only a few clicks of a mouse away. That was quite nice, considering I was upgrading from a p3 600mhz, which really only ever ran at sad, sad 590mhz.
Once my comp was running at 3.2ghz, I decided to do some more renders in Lightwave and After Effects. Was it any faster than it was when it was running at 2.6? Sadly enough, no.
My question: Does anyone do animation work on an OCed machine, and has noticed an improvement from their previous setup? I'm certain that I'm doing something wrong, and would like to get the most out of my machine.
Thanks!
