hey i finally got my computer overclocked now thanks to all the help i have received here on this site and was wondering how it would affect my overall lifespan of the chip and the computer. I have a celeron 700 @ 945, with a GlobalWin FOP 38 and a asus cuv4x-e. I ran a cpu stability test for about an hour and it seems fine. So does anyone know how this will affect the lifespan of my system's life. Will it degrade faster, or since im keeping it cool (doesnt go above 40 degrees C under heavy load) will it matter? Will my system run fine? any suggestions would be appreciated

Once your system is stable and I recomend more then a hour, then there should be no real problem, burning in does lessen the life span of your chip but maybe by 5 years but the life of a normal chip is maybe around 20 years. Now as far as other devises such as hard drives some brands are not to compatibly with overclocking and if your FSB is to high you might have a problem, I think in most cases your PC will be outdated and you will be moving on before anything takes a dump on you.
