thank you,can you tell me where to learn how to raise slighty the fsb,i had read the 6 pages of the beginner o/c guide but i still don't know how to bust that 4.5x(iìm a newbie)

yes but Shadow has told you that you can "not" unlock the CPU clock multiplier of 4.5. You are stuck with it and can never change it. The only way is to increase the Front Side Bus (fsb).
To get to it, you'll have to get in access to your motherboard's bios. you'll have to know your mobo first to see if what FSB setting options you have..

If I remember correctly you said you have a P2B from Asus...I don't know, but I think it's controled by jumpers on the mobo...but I could be wrong...I have been before :-) there might also be some kind of "soft setting" in your bios....look for wording like "cpu host frequency" or simillar your default is 133mhz...unfortunately at 150mhz bus you will only be at 667mhz....and I don't think it's worth the trouble for a few mhz...but you could test all your components with that chip at 150mhz bus, and see what parts you will have to live without, or replace..and could stress test the heck out of your board...without risking your chip...667mhz is a very mild overclock from 600.
You shouldn't be too dissapointed, you could still have a bit of fun out of that board/chip combo...and who knows? somebody here might be talked into giving up one of their chips they no longer use.

thanks,i tryed the 150x4.5 combo but it's not the o/c that i've in mind to do...about MOBO,what is it and where i can find it on the bios?thanks(i have an asus p3b-f and 128 pc133 of ram)

MOBO = Motherboard, I'm still not 100% convinced you have FSB (front side bus) and the multiplier straight, I may be stating something you already know but just in case, the multiplier you have on that chip is set at 4.5 times, years ago this setting could be changed but not now, it is now what is generally reffered to as locked or set there is no way of changing this in either hardware or software setting.
The front side bus on that chip is 133MHz this is not locked on this chip and may be changed slightly but since it is 133MHz to start with you have little room to move.
I hope this doesn't sound patronising because it isn't intended.

Hey, if anyone has a chip that's better than my Katmai, I'll leech it from you :P
Anyways, he is thinking the multiplier, which is not what you need for an Intel. It will be 4.5x no matter what you do, that cannot be changed. Now as for what you need/want to do is increase the actual bus speed which won't have much of an effect. 4.5x133=600 Thats Multiplier times Front side bus equals CPU Frequency. The higher your bus goes the higher the frequency in MegaHertz the processor goes. So if you had the FSB at 150 you would be going to 4.5x150=675mhz. Which that is a 75mhz gain which you will hardly tell a difference in that for anything, it's better to get a different chip for the 600eb is a very poor processor to overclock because of it's already 133mhz front side.
