With your, and other guys support (thank you very much) I'm trying to O/C my C2 600@900.

I've lapped the core, the hsf (no brand, I'm still waiting the Pep66T), wired the core for 1.65v, so I can reach with Mobo (Msi6337 I815E Pro) 1.95v, and installed more case Fan.

Now I've my C2@746 wired@1.65v rock stable (was rock also @1.5v) and temps are Cpu@full load 49C, Mobo 27C, but don't want work with Fsb@100 :-( works fine untill boot into Win98se, and after processed autoexec & config hangs!
I've tryed under/Cking video card but....nothing....
Can be a heat probs, or what?

I'm not Mr.B, but I would say that heat is your problem, stock cpu's can handle the heat better than overclocked ones do....I have noticed that both cBO, and cCO chips get jumpy after 37c when overclocked...if you could reduce your temps by at least 7c, you just might be able to stabilise it out...you might also be able to lower your vcore once you get your alpha...and if I were you, I would not try to push it till you get said alpha...with a cheap cpu cooler and high voltage like that you are asking for trouble.
Whatever speed you can run stabely, you should leave it there, till you get better cooling..you mentioned you are waiting for an alpha...a few more days won't hurt waiting, but ten seconds at high voltage with the wrong cooling can cost you a weeks pay. Wait for the alpha...It will be worth the wait :-)

You lapped the die?

That is a sure fire way to create damage to the die cap and as such increase the heat and decrease the chances of controlling dissipation.

Never overclock with a generic hsf solution - you are asking for trouble.

Wait to get your proper HSF (why is everyone aways waiting on parts - do they dream about them?) and then hike the voltage to 1.85v.

cB0's usually require 1.85v to get to 100Mhz FSB, they aren't as child safe as cC0's!!!!

Thank you very much for your support,
I must wait untill I've Pep66T & Artic Silver, I hope a couple of days.

For Wild Andy C:
Yes, I've lapped, just a little, my C2 600, like suggested, with sandpaper 2000, now it's silver, not blu, and temp go down a little.

Doc, I think you are correct in your assesment. those temps are EXTREMELY high!!

I'd hold off on running to that high until a better hsf can be installed.

I lapped the cpu myself. You need to be unbelieveable carefull when doing so, and use at a minimum 1200 grit wet dry sandpaper. You need to read as much as you can regarding doing this BEFORE attempting it. this cannot be stressed highly enough. You're not woodworking here. A very light touch is all you need.

I still have traces of the "blue" on the die on mine...thats how little I actually sanded. Can this be done, yes. Not recommended for novices, though.....

Definitely sound like heat, I'd back off til the Alpha gets in, and then resume the assault on 100 FSB. You don't want to fry the chip before you get adaquate cooling.

Let us know when the Alpha arrives....

Thank you very much for all your support,
also I've trace of blu in the corner, I've used 2000 grit wet dry sandpaper and I was absolutly carefull :-) like you suggest me.
I hope to post 900 reached or more when Alpha gets in.
