got a MSI K7D-L dual MPs....here's my story:
I modded 2 x XP2800s to MP.....no problems when they posted last nite.
Tonight I decided to try the socket pinmod to unlock the multis.
So I did the 133x17 pin mod...checked everything twice then cleared CMOS and booted. I got one cpu showing as 2261 mhz..the other didnt post. No biggie I figured I'll just backtrack and fix it........ I was able to get into Windows XP fine .
So I shut down....checked the pin mods again with the diagram....rebooted and now I get nothing!...No screen, no beeeps, nothing. I cleared CMOS again......FSB to 100.....nothing.
I do hear a faint "clicking" sound and notice that the 4 LED lights are on and that the case fans dont seem to spin as fast as before.. So I tired booting with only 1 cpu...still nothing. I then tried a MP1600 cpu I had and nothing. Im using an Antec TPS550W.
I blew air onto the mobo thinking maybe a piece of small wire still stuck ...causing a short?
Is my mobo blown?????
Man O Man.....did I screw the poooch here?
Anyone have any expertise in troubleshoooting this?
