i'm tryng to o/c this cpu(multiplr 6.0x)and i boosted it at 83x6=~500,so i tryed to boost it a little more but the pc hang up!?did someone o/c this cpu more than 500mhz?if so let me know, thanks(mobo=Asus p3b-f and a standard cpu cooler and 128 pc133 ram)

thats a celeron 400 my friend. With a multipler of 6x66=400.

Have you tried increasing the voltage? Whats your cooling like?

the cooling device is a simply dc 12volt 0.9 ventilator of 4 centimeter of diameter....i will try to bust the vcore up to 2.2v

I think Vcore 2.2 is bit too high on a Celeron 400.. Spode what you think...

If I remember correctly, those early cellies had a default of 2.0v and could usually take up to 2.2v without much problem. Also, most of those early cellies didn't usually go much higher than 500 MHz, especially without much better cooling.

i have used a celey 400 at 600, granted this was a test cpu in a water cooling setup with danger den maze thing(the older one).

2.2v is good. Actually, from what I've read, 15% of a voltage bump is reasonable. I can't remember if this applies to the PPGA Celerons as well as the later FC-PGA ones.

If you CAN, in fact run 15% over with this, that would be 2.3v, in which case 2.2v (10% over) is safe.

Not 100% rock solid sure on this, but I do believe it's fine.

yes,i tryed to bust the vcore from 2.2v to 2.5v but nothing changed, only 83x6=500mhz work,so i think that the matter can be the hot,do you think that if i apply a better heat sinker like water one o some other device i can boost the mhz up to 600?what you suggest me to do?thank you however

I had a dual celeron 400. I only need 2.1 volts to get 550. And extra volts made no difference (and yes, 2.3 IMHO is fine). My problem was cooling. My friend has this machine now - I installed a watercooler on his and got 600 each with 1.8v! They will go higher as well.

I reckon heat is your problem
