i just got myself another HSF but i have no idea what model izzit but it is rather big and it looks pretty much like FOP - 38. the fan spinds at about 6000 rpm so i guess that is fast enough. problem is when i clock the CPU at FSB 112 and the voltage i increase it to 2 volts, and error message shows while loading into windows afterwhich it locks up. the error message is " Your program caused a divide overflow error" Has anyone got this message while loading Windows and locks up there b4? if i put the voltage to 1.95 v, it loads windows halfway and stops but there is no error message. I drop the voltage to 1.9 v and it loads untill the part where u get to see informations about your PC afterwhich it stops loading. i'm using a BH 6 so i cannot have the FSB any lower then 112. Is there a way which i can load softmenu III to this BH 6? please help. i'm getting very tired of this CPU and board.
the problems below 2v sound like a lack of voltage or heat, but I wouldn't recomend running at more than 1.9v for any long periodof time as no matter what some people say about their chips being ok there is a good chance yours won't be and that you will kill it, the rror you get at 2v sounds like a heat problem, what thermal compund are you using?
It is true that increasing the voltage can help with heat problems as with the extra heat there is more resistance so increasing the voltage means that even with the resistance you are getting closer to the current you need but it only worsens things by increasing the heat more so. Not all celerons will reach 1ghz+ and you may just be unlucky, at the end of the day there isn't much differance between 930mhz and 1008mhz

does the thermal compound really matter? i'm using just some ordinary thermal paste i figured that it made no differents so i never got to getting any branded thermal compound. i guess i just want to see 4 figures when i load the PC so i'm still trying to get it to 1 GHz + if possible. what is prime 95 and where do i get it? i want to test my PC and i heard that it is a good software to test the PC with. oh, my PC tempreture is normally at about 40C to 50C. is that hot? i'm in Malaysia so the weather here is already about 40C in the afternoon.

yeah, 40- 50 C is pretty hot. Try to keep the temp lower. there are different quality/level of thermal pastes that will perform differently. I use a thermal paste that is specifically for the CPU chip and it does seem to do its job faily well. but the best one is Artic Silver. Artic Silver Thermal Compound for the CPU is really effective. They will drop your temp if you apply them properly.
And if your room is hot, turn the Air conditioner on max and get your computer case naked with both sides open, hehe.. my pc is always naked anyway.

problem is that my room does not have air-con and furthermore i already have like 4 fans sucking air out while one sucks air in. during the nite time the temp drop to about 35 - 40 c. sadly when i run 3D Mark the temp raise up to 50c there were once when it reach 56 c. i off the PC and open the cover right after i saw it. i don't think we have that kind or the brand name of thermal paste here so do me a favour and sent me a small packet. i think we can get through tax :-) Let me know. thanx for your info anyway
