They're cheap for a reason. Rio has a really bad name in the aquarium world, they crap out frequently. I've had a couple & they work fine, but I wouldn't trust one.

They are probably cheap in monitary value and cheap in build quality.

I was thinking about getting a Rio pump when I was going to start watercooling, everyone fragged me to death about how bad these pumps were but nobody could show any proof. Yeah they are priced good and if you take care of it and note the warranties involved you should be able to get reasonable life out of one...

But everyone else will tell you different.

i got one, it sucks, but it works
rio 600, got it before i even got a via aqua.
got it with my cpuFX aluminum block, my first WC system..
now i use it to empty out my fish tank.. takes about an hour to empty out half of a 50gal tank, lol. they have crap for head

Via aqua 1300 for $11.69 which is white lightning hot since you can also run them inline as well as submerged. Personally I would not touch either one... The game starts with Mag3 from everything I've been reading. But a lot of people like the via aqua after an impeller modification.
