I recently reformated my harddrive and reinstalled everything anew. Including my audigy, " drivers only" directly from the CD that came with it. Now I have problems with the volume getting louder and louder on its own randomly. The sliders in windows have not changed.. Regardless it will slowly raise in volume till it too loud. I am also having a problem with lag between my Altec Lansing speakers volume control knob and what I hear. I turn the knob and 8 seconds later the computer catrches up. It does not matter what I set the sliders in windoows too or what volume it is set on the speakers. I did not have this problem in the past... Any ideas?

I reinstalled the drivers and thats a no go.

Have you tried installing the whole software suite? And is there anything else installed that accesses the audio controls in any way?

I just intalled the bare drivers, all that other crap annoyed me in the past... Other than the volume control via windows and the knob on my speakers, there is none. Not even a media player other than Windows Media Player right now...

One thing I did do before I formated is updated the bios on the Mobo. There is no on-board sound. Maybe I should try changing PCI slots...

Try changing the PCI slot further away from your video card, and install the latest drivers from www.soundblaster.com If you still have problems, send me a private message and I might be able to help you further.

Do you have a microphone by any chance?
