how'd it turn out?
after hearing about the trueblue 480's propensity for fan failure, i'm gonna do this soon. right now i've got two 32cfm case intakes with pantyhose filters that need to be cleaned about every ten days. there's a 60mm fan exhaling out the back, and then the psu exhaust, which feels like it's about 28cfm max. i've got two 49cfm's, a panaflo 92mm and ystech 80mm, sitting in a shopping cart at directron that should work nicely.
i just modded from an slk800/80mm combo to a 120mm -> 2-liter bottle -> slk800 heatsink combo. case temps dropped a couple of degrees on account of the psu's intake fan is no longer half obscured by the hs/fan, now there's the nice round sliced&diced 2-liter bottle sitting 1/2" underneath allowing more airflow, not to mention the hsf and ps intake are no longer fighting over the same air.

Why do you want to replace your case fans? Is it to reduce noise or increase cooling performance?

no, not the case fans, the fans in the power supply. this article (http://www.overclockers.com/tips1033/) is what planted the seed in my head. the article is based on the antec truepower 550, and i have the antec trueblue 480 (a truepower 480 with two weak blue leds, as i understand it.) the fans in the power supply are running off the "fan only" line, which i just tested at 6V...

I meant the PSU Case ;)

Instead of replacing those fans right away, you could try using the fans that are already in the PSU except you connect them to a 12V molex to run them at full speed.

I've never done it on that model, but I have on several other cheap brands. It's easy to do. Just cut and rewire the new one on. Then mount it back on the PSU case.
