View Full Version : Celeron 2 533 to 896 question
I have been running a celeron II 533 at 896 for about 8 months. My questions is that it runs stable on everything except games, but it will run the games fine until i exit. Then my computer will shut down. I was just running the unreal tournament flyby for an hour. I then exited and it went back into windows. Then 3 three seconds later it shut down. I have similar experiences with other games too. Other than that it runs great. Any help on the cause of the problem will be apprectiated. My computer is running at 105 F when i exit the games and idles at 89. I have an ABIT BX6 Rev2 mobo. and am running in windows 2000 server addition. I am also using thermal paste and have a golden orb attached to the cpu.

I had a Celeron 566 @ 952, which puts us in the same boat.
My Motherboard was an AOpen AX6BC Rev2.0 (almost same as yours)
I too was running 112 fsb.
I could NOT get above 708Mhz and play games (init 3d graphics).
I could run 850 at stock voltage, and 952 @ 1.55v and run windows fine... surf the net, all that stuff no problem. Try to play Unreal or SOF and it would lock up trying to get in.
The problem? My video card... I had a V770 Ultra 32mb AGP card.
I had to change the AGP jumper on the MB from "Default" *which I believe is 1/1 to "2/3", after that, I never had a problem and she ran perfect.
Your problems should be when you start the game, not exit, but Windowz is weird, give that a try and see what happens.
Good luck!
