prime95 running overnight seems to be a strong favorite way. I think it is part of the SiSoft Sandra products. Q3 Time Demo looped works well too. The idea is to really run your cpu for a while. There is not a definate time on how long to do this either. It seems to vary widely, but it does help.

I've made quite a few posts on this subject but here goes.
With my cCO celeron 600 I set the speed to 600mhz and voltage to 2v, I then ran seti and prime95 for about 12 hours a day and when ever I wasn't at the computer I would leave sandra burn-in wizard going (it uses too many cpu cycles so you can't use the computer at the same time), I did this for about 3 months and after this time I could then run up to 750mhz with 1.3v (default for chip is 1.7v at 600) and at 900mhz with only 1.55v, at 1.01ghz I would need 1.9v to get 99% stabel, but prime95 would fail with less than 2.2v, so I started burning in at 2.2v at 600mhz (occasionally bumping up to 900 when I needed the extra speed) and I am still burning in at this voltage, as soon as I find my slocket manual (can't remember the jumper settings) I'll see how low I can get it.

well, it depend! i run both sisoft and prime together overnight to get better and faster result! my cpu need to be cool down to 30C to perform that! huh! :( well after a day of sisoft sandra burn in, it lower my Vcore to 1.85 instead of 1.90 :)
