I've heard the Prometeia is best, tho I used to have great sucess with Pelts.
Prometiea is definetly the best. You average -30C idle -10C load, while with a peltier you average around 10C idle 20C load.

so where would i get a prometia? like whats the best place as far as support, service, communication.
of course i want the best deal but not at the cost of having it shipped in a paper bag and the number to call has been disconnected.
also do they come in a case already?

ok ive done some research and i think ill get the lian li type one but im wondering where to buy in usa and whats the difference between the mach 1 and 2 that makes it so much more expensive?
The Mach 2 has upgraded there components for better performance (im not sure exactly what and how much difference it makes)... Also, Mach 2 has its own delay timer because a lot of mobos dont like to suspend power at start up in order for the cpu to be cooled down to -31c. For places to buy: www.nventiv.com
Keep in mind that the reason for the huge price diffrence between the Mach 1 and Mach 2 is because they want to get rid of there Mach 1 line.

i saw the kit tronics sight from searching on here but when i saw the price of their video cards i thought they were out of their minds. but i havent been able to find the promee anywhere else cheaper either.
do they have there own power source? like they have a 110v plug right? i cant imagine that you could run these off of your PSU.
if they both run off of r134a then i imagine id be going with the mach 1 and just cut out 2 little roman numerals and call it a mach 3

Im getting -15c idle, -5 to +2 at Load with my Mach I. The mach unit is at -39C
Im running a p4 3.0ghz at 4ghz at the moment.

Wall outlet.
From what I read on a few forums, the Mach I is comparable to the Vapochill in terms of temperature. Most Intel users at below 0C and most AMD users are above 0C. Im happy with my new rig but I was hoping for better temps during load. Nonetheless, its running cold and Im happy with my purchase. The instructions for the mach I is not so up 2 date, so just use some information on the mach II install to get it setup.

Really? That is odd becuase just about all Intel's throw off more thermal watts than AMD's. I think it is a pretty big difference too. Like an AMD 2800 Barton throws off less than a 2.53Ghz Intel.
Oh well, it might be that AMD's need more voltage to overclock, and/or overclock higher or something.

i know the amd will burn up fast without a heatsink where a intel may survive. other then that i dont know if they are hotter.
i guess it would come down to wattsXmass
What might contribute to AMDs slightly worse temps could be that they typically have a smaller silicon die. So, per cm2 they throw off more heat and it it always harder to cool smaller surfaces.
While the cooling head might be very cold it might have problems sourcing it to the middle of die.

Hmm $457 with free ground shipping man it's dropped in price!!! Havnt checked the price of these lately. This with R404 mod is something i'm thinking about.
i'll keep my Vapo for the Vid Card. Be nice if my vapo head would reach that far to the Graphics card. Just sit it on top the Mach1.
How come Vid card makers have never put the GPU facing upward?? Seems it would be better and make more room for those big HS!!! Plus heat rises right.
It would be a good idea.

A Prommy has a wall plug and a molex connection.
The difference between a Mach I and a Mach II is a matter of a few degree's temp wise, and the Mach II uses a Windows based control interface whereas the Mach I does not.
Alot of people use them 24/7 but you will notice it in your power bill.
