I am getting a new chip and a 80watt peltier. What is the best chip (Celeron) that i should get. My current Celeron II 600 (sB0 SL46U) can do 950 @ 1.85------983 @ 2.0v----1ghz 2.0v no 3d.
I was thinking Celeron II 600/Celeron II 566 cC0. But i know that some 566's can only do 850. I want to hitt 1ghz+. Maybe 1050 at a decent voltage. Need suggestions quickly, I am ordering in about 1 hour.
How much did you pay for the 600?? Just curious...
I'd hang tight with that C600, and give it a little while to burn in and run at higher speeds. Like I mintioned in my earlier post, mine ran for a month or so, before really topping out.
Guarrantee that chip not DOA, and I might be interested in it. I think a bit of run in time, and you'd get a Gig 100% stable....
Don't know why you're in such a rush, this stuff takes time, you need to be more patient.

The chip is definetly topped out because my brother had it for about 1 year @ 750 default voltage. I have had it burning in since i got it and those are my results. I might get rid of this chip i don't know. Anyway, i just want to mess around with another chip, just to fool around with, i was thinking 566, but i am worried that i mught get screwed like i did with my Celeron II 700, becuase i want more, but end up getting less.
About the Peltier, will i get condensation? I will be using a heatsink to cool the hott side. Will it work well, or will i still be full loading @ 40C?

O yea, and by the way, MR. B what are you load temps?

It's been a while since I had the C600 running...but I recall 37 to 38c max load.
Ok, so it ran for a year at 83.3 FSB, and then you got it a couple of days ago....you still might get a gig out of that if you'd just give it some time.
If it's a gig that you MUST have....get a P/// 700E, for cryin out loud. Or a P/// 900 or higher......
You know first hand about high multipliers, and you know that the E chips usualyy o/c better than the EB's....what do YOU think you should get to virtually assure 1 GHz, Carmine?? Chances are less likely w/ a C566 than a P/// 700E.
You should sell all of your chips, and put the $$ towards a P///, IMHO.

Well, i just ordered a 80watt peltier from www.3dcool.com for 25 bucks and i got the fastest shipping so it should be here in like 3 days most. If this chip doesn't hitt at least 1020 with a peltier, then i will get a new one. I also do think it should be stable @ 1ghz in maybe another week of burn in.
Also, this is mighty wierd. People always say Seti is much better burn in program than sisandra 2001 burn in. But when i run seti @ 950 1.85v i full load @ 32.5C. With Sisandra 2001 (cpu benchmark & cpu-multimedia benchmark selected) I full load @ 37C. ???!!!??? Sandra does a much better job. Prime95 will be used next.
Run Prime95 "Torture test", and Sandra CPU Burn-in together. That wrings it out. I get temps of around 38-39c max w/ the P/// doing this.
