I have a pentiumIII 700mhz (socket 370) with the cB0 stepping. I wanted to know which board would be better for overclocking this. I wanted at least around 930mhz. Here are the 2 boards I'm considering.
1. Asus CUSL2-C
2. MSI 815EP PRO-R
Thanks

Based on your CPU stepping, and you want good overclock,... what else are you looking 4? gaming performance?... if so, get a BX based mommyboard like MSI BX Master or Abit BE6-2. I assume you have Slot 1 cpu right?

Thanks

Actually, my CPU is socket 370. I do want good gaming performance also. That is why I was going with the 815ep shipset because of 4x AGP support. Let me know what you think. Thanks

there is a gigabite board with a bx chip in 370 format, if you can get hold of one go for that

ok so you have FCPGA... it's really upto you.. if you really need the urge for 4X AGP, then go with the MSI 815EP PRO-R. I think it's a nice board also.

The BX chipsets will have little edge on the performance than the i815E chipsets even with the 4X agp enabled within the same mhz to mhz comparison. **If somebody has actually tested these setups and post result here would be great!!** but the 815 chipset has its own advantage.. it gives you plenty room for selecting AGP ratio divider so you can have agp device running closer to spec when you oc very high.

Therefore, you have another good option, that is... find a Slotket from MSI for your FCPGA and use the slot1 mobo like Abit BE6-2 Rev2. With the Slotket, you will have much higher Vcore voltage option. This will give you farther overclocking. Have fun deciding! =0
