I dropped 4C using my Golden Orb!!!

I popped in my Golden orb on my Celeron II 600 @ 983 2.0v. I used to full load @ 44C. I now full load @ 40C!!! Of course i modded it.

I took out the original fan(I have the Real Thermaltake golden orb) and put a 60mm fan on top.It blow downward in. The 60mm fan is o/c to 19v instead of the normal 12v. Much more cfm. I then have an exhaust fan blowing outward, so it in like a wind tunnel, everything goes through the chip, then out the exhaust. Runs pretty effiencient in my opinion.

Since everyone says that gorb's suck and alpha's get 5-8C lower temps, maybe i should get one???!!!???

40 eh? i dunno what your ambient temp is, but my p3 700@1001@1.9v only runs at like 34@full load, and that's with an alpha pep66. it isnt hot, just a tad warm. but at any rate that's still a pretty decent temp for a gorb. ppl say they suck, and well they do, but as you found out a little tweakin can fix it
