Hi all, i have a p3ntium 600, a asus p3v133 pc133 motherboard (with VIA Apollo pro133 chipset) and 128 pc100 ram, soon (very soon) will update to 256 pc133 ram. I never overclocked before. Can you, please, give me some tips to start overclocking my sys?

First off, what kind of cooling (HSF, case fans) are you using? If you're using the stock Intel Heatsink/fan that came with the CPU, you'll probably want to upgrade to something more substantial- Globalwins and Alphas seem to be the choice of most around here. You will -probably- also want to upgrade your RAM fairly soon... Assuming you're not running a B/EB, your PIII runs at 100Mhz FSB, so your RAM is currently running at what it is rated for. Some and/or most can be pushed a bit higher than it is rated for, but it's not guaranteed to. If you haven't already done so, read through the beginners guides on the main page- there's a lot of good advice in there that many people miss. It also usually is good to have the newest bios update for your board- but be careful when doing this, and make sure to read up on how to do it properly. I'm sure that there are some here who actually have the same board as you do, and will be of a bit more specific help. Good luck!

How much can i get with my system? with 256 133 ram?
There are no guarantees in overclocking. Two identical systems will overclock differently. The better your cooling, the better your odds are at overclocking. Most P-III chips will "USUALLY" do at least 900 MHz. Lots of good beginner articles on the front page of this website. Remember, heat is the enemy!
