Wu hu !! I finally managed to get the old girl to 1ghz!!
I wasnt sure if it was going to make it or not but it looks like I must have got one of the good 800eb chips!

my specs are as follows:

PIII800EB @ 1002mhz (167fsb 2.0v)
CUSL2 asus mobo
256mb of pc133 Hyundai Ram
Asus Ge-Force 256 32mb ddr agp vid card
30gig ibm 7200rpm h/d

my cooling is supplied by a measly Gorb which I have lapped (with 800grit wet and dry) and put new thermal paste on plus I have an 80mm fan attached to the bottom of my powersupply blowing air straight onto the gorb. It runs quite hot , gets up to 47C under full load (3 - 4 hours of UT!! hehe) seems to be quite stable though.
im wondering if this result is good for a chip with only a 6x multiplier, I personally think its great , but im sure that other ppl out there will have better.

Good?!? That's frickin phoenominal.

I've got a 600E (same 6x multi) and I've been dreaming of 167 FSB....(I'm at 159 and holding, but not by choice...lol)

Nice chip...Congrats on the Gig.

ALRIGHT! Nice to see someone getting some good OC with the EB's

Good job on the overclock, now you'll need to do more cooling mods. Maybe extra intake and exhaust fans. I'm not sure about the fan on the power supply blowing on the CPU. The air in the PS is hot. Isn't there an exhaust fan on the PS? Aren't these two fans fighting each other?

Thats Awesome!

And here I am with a PIII 800E and cant get over a FSB of 126 without losing stability!

Good job man thats great!

--->> You have a monster memory bandwidth version of 1Ghz, look at you fsb..... woaaa, congrats and I bet your machine outperform my P3@ 153fsb/1071mhz in the memory department... one thing,... What is allowing you to reach such high FSB? Is it the mobo or your memory beside your CPU.

Also, is your current setup memory cas2 or 3?

They use that Hyundai ram in some OEM machines....maybe if i take that out of my OEM machine and put it in my other newly built machine......
P3-600@840.....at 167FSB......that's over 1G!
yay!!!!!!

IM not sure whats letting me get so high in the FSB area , i did however do what some of you recommended and "burnt" my chip in for a few days at the highest voltage but default speed setting(using 3dmark2001 looping demo) so i'm thinking that this may have helped greatly.
I have just got my hands on a super orb and im thinking of fitting this to it to perhaps make it a bit cooler.
My mate had it on his t-bird but said it wasnt keeping it cold enough , I think its also very noisy as it has 2 fans on it.
Anyway I will lap it and fit on some time this week and see how I go.
